Thanks Kevin! The second photo, of the kid alone in front of the chessboard, I can see what you were talking about Tuesday night, control of the background, this would be a far better photo with out all of the commotion in the background, judging from the photo on top, the stands are a neutral gray, if the orientation of the table had been changed in this photo, with the gray stands in the background, the subject would of been isolated and given a lot more attention, I believe that would of made photo 2 much better. I think a tighter angle on photo 1 and a change of lens to make the "crowd" look bigger could of improved photo #1.
